“The Highgate Vampire Society has been revamped and come back out of its coffin with a new website.”
- Marc Mullen (Hampstead & Highgate Express)
That website’s ISP, however, has obliged part of the site in question to be deleted due its malicious and false content about Seán Manchester. Two pages have been heavily edited because of libellous fabrications about the author of The Highgate Vampire whose work is the definitive account about the Highgate case.
One thing about which the real experts are certain - no authentic reports of supernatural vampire infestation or kindred disturbances have taken place at Highgate Cemetery for over three decades.
The Vampire Research Society still has members living in the vicinity of Highgate Cemetery and they know of no recent sighting from any credible witness. The person making these wild allegations does not live in Highgate. His accomplice in this stunt lives hundreds of miles away in the north of England. She was not even born when Highgate Cemetery was under investigation in the early 1970s.
The person (and it is only one person) creating the scare that a vampire is active again in the cemetery has provided not a scrap of evidence. No witnesses have been identified whose testimony could be checked. Not one person has independently come forward to verify the claim which still remains totally unsubstantiated.
We simply have to take his word - the word of someone with a history of much infamy and attention-seeking where Highgate Cemetery is concerned - and that is simply not good enough.
